Health With MSG ?

Health with MSG, Glutamic acid [ MSG or monosodium glutimate] occurs naturally in the foods you eat. Your body is capable of producing more glutamic acid if it is needed. So why is there so much MSG added to the food you eat.

One of the answers; food processors are constantly competing with others in their industry for their share of the market place. Fast food restaurants are competing for the most enticing flavors in the foods they prepare.

Yes, it has been found that MSG enhances the flavor of foods, so there is a competition going on, who can make their products taste better and sell the most in the nations market places.

In recent years there has been much controversy about health issues related to the use of MSG. On the one hand The Food and Drug Administration insists that MSG is safe in any quantity. On the other hand science and research is proving that to be a lie.

Watch a video report of the MSG controversy from the program 60 minutes and rest assured nothing has changed. The processors have become adept at hiding where the MSG is.

Now they are hiding the fact that the foods you eat contain MSG. The FDA says foods have to be labeled with their naturally occurring ingredients, so if a food is labeled as containing monosodium glutimate that means it is naturally occurring MSG.

Millions of people are concerned about health with MSG Those people will not buy a product if the label says it contains MSG. In response the food processors are using an even more dangerous form of MSG.

They don’t have to call it MSG anymore, they can call it by it’s naturally occurring name. FDA regulations say they can use that naturally occurring name. So they are able to hide the content by using another name for glutamic acid.

Hydrolyzed protein has been a favorite hide behind word for MSG until recently. People concerned about their health with MSG are becoming aware of what it means.

So the processors change the game. Now it is called such things as corn protein, whey protein, pea protein which means it is at least partially hydrolyzed to release glutamic acid which is MSG.

Why is MSG so damaging? There may be millions of people who have serious reactions to MSG. Some of these reactions have been life threatening.

Who knows how many people have died as a result of ingesting MSG. The vast majority of people are unaware of the health hazards of glutamic acid.

Obesity is another result of MSG. It makes food taste better and it also makes people eat more than they need; super size it please. Obesity leads to a number of other health problems, diabetes being the foremost, the number three killer behind heart disease and cancer.

Heart disease and cancer may also be related to your consumption of MSG. It has been proven that the process of hydrolyzing proteins leaves some carcinogens in the MSG that is extracted. The FDA allows up to one percent impurities in the result of the process.

Your health with MSG is in serious jeopardy. Two carcinogens may be released by the process of manufacturing MSG and may be included in the final product. Pyroglutamic acid, mono and dichloro propanols are both carcinogenic compounds. There are other contaminants as well in MSG.
