Glyconutrients For Health

Glyconutrients for health has been a controversial subject for some time. The word glyconutrient is not in my Webster’s dictionary. Broken down, the word Glyco means sugar or sugars and nutrient is self explanatory, it means it’s good for you.

Sugars that are good for you, is that possible? Yes it is, and they are commonly called the sugars that heal. The science of glycobiology is proving that there are eight essential sugars that keep our body cells healthy.

The prestigious Oxford University does research in glycobiology. If you like to read technical documents you will find several pertaining to sugars. Glyconutrients for health are essential.

Glycobiology is a relatively new science, that was unheard of just a few years ago. On your search bar type in "Glycobiology Research". You will find sacharide research articles and research studies are over whelming.

Science is begining to realize sacharides and monosacharides do have a place as nutrients in the human diet. Six of the monosacharides are not found in abundance in the foods we eat today. Healthy Food Comes From Healthy Soil.

When our body cells are healthy we are healthy. No colds, no flu symptoms, no allergies and the list goes on and on. Unhealthy body cells lead to autoimmune disorders such as sugar diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, muscular dystrophy, muscular sclerosis.

There are all kinds of reasons why our cells break down. Our foods are contaminated with pesticides, chemicals from fertilizers. This along with every day stress will cause our cells to break down because these factors cause free radicals to form in our bodies.

Those free radicals can cripple or even destroy healthy cells. The eight essential sugars along with antioxidants are essential in combating these cell crippling effects. We need glyconutrients for health.

Glyconutrients for health are essential, and ongoing biological research is proving this to be the case. Research proves that healthy cells communicate with one another to keep the immune system fighting invading infections of one sort or another.

If just one of these essential sugars is missing the immune system becomes out of balance and can’t do it’s job effectively. The cold or virus or some other sort of infection soon follows.

Here is a list of those eight essential sugars, Xylose, Fucose, Galactose, Glucose, Mannose, N-Acetylgalactosamine, N-Acetylglucosomine, N-Acetylneurominic acid. [those are the biggest words you will ever find in any of my writings] I hope.

Galactose is a common one, it’s found in dairy products. Glucose is another common one it’s nothing more than common table sugar, something that most of us eat all too much of.

The other six glyconutrients for health are not so common. Fifty or sixty years ago people were healthier because more of those essential sugars were found in the every day diet. Those essential sugars are drastically reduced in today’s diet for a number of different reasons.

Fifty or sixty years ago when you went to the market you had to buy local produce that was in season. Today you can buy the same produce year round. It is picked before it has ripened so it can be shipped long distances without spoiling.

When produce is picked before it ripens on the vine the essential sugars are missing. If you grow your own tomatoes at home, pick a nice ripe one and then go to the supermarket and buy a nice ripe one. Now see which one tastes the best.

The difference is, the one you purchased at the supermarket was picked green. The home grown vine ripened one is loaded with natural sugars so the flavor is much nicer.

Not only are they picked green, but they are also sprayed with a chemical to make them turn red and thus appear to be ripe.

We will discuss glyconutrients for good health in another article. There is a lot more information available we would like to share with you.
